Director Letters

You can read about the directors of each week and hear what they have planned.

Princess Camp: Princess Camp is a fun-filled week where we get to learn about being who we are, God's Princess. We spend some time diving into the word and understanding who we are in Christ. We also spend some time doing some activities where we get some royal treatment! Princess Camp is an exciting and fun-filled week!

Your Princess Camp Director Jenny Campbell. I live in Winona Lake, Indiana, and I work for a local school corporation as a mental health counselor. I have an adorable and ornery Goldendoodle named Dudley. This will be my second time directing Princess Camp. We had an awesome week last year. My current favorite verse is from Psalm 112:7-8 “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foe ."

Challenge Camp: My name is Angie Ricket and I am the director for Challenge Camp. I began as a cabin leader for a few years and became director. This is my 6th or 7th year as director. The part I enjoy most is watching the campers strengthen their relationship with Christ and each other. The hardest part about being involved with camp is watching my kids move on to the next age group. I have had a few campers come back as cabin leaders when they become old enough which is awesome. We serve a great and mighty God and being able to be a part of teaching the campers this truth is the highlight of my summer. I am excited every year to get to see my returning campers and to meet and get to know new campers. Camper make sure you bring some cloths you don’t mind getting messy and that is all I will say about that ;) God bless and see you all this summer!!

Senior High Camp: At Senior High Camp you can expect to be able to spend time with your camp friends you have made over the years and/or make new ones. We will get seriously into God’s word with chapels each day. Students will also have a chance to be in a talent show and participate in the Yuck-O-lympics. The focus of the week is to develop the young adults that come to camp into stronger believers and bring some to Christ for the first time. No matter your life experiences there is a place for you at Senior High Camp.

Senior High Camp is directed by Tyler Murphy, and has been since 2018. Tyler has been involved at Camp Tippy as a cabin leader, director, or pastor for about the last decade. Tyler serves as the Youth Pastor at Metea Baptist Church and has since 2013. Tyler is assisted in directing by his wife Sara and their daughter Nora who was born in 2017.

Discovery Camp: Discovery Camp is a GREAT week! As we dive into God's word through chapel, worship & Bible study, we incorporate His teachings into much of what we do throughout the day. During the week, our goal is to help campers DISCOVER God's love & ways that we can engage Him (reading, prayer, & worship). We have a blast doing daily activities like swimming, crafts, and games & events like water games, relay races, and a carnival!

Brian grew up in southern Indiana & spent many years attending Indian Creek. Currently he lives in Chicago with his wife, Erin, & their three daughters. During the week, Brian works as a construction project manager and serves in various capacities at their church, New Life Community. Brian has continued to support camp over the years by volunteering as a cabin leader and serving as a director at Trailblazers (2017) & Discovery Camp (2018). He is excited for another year of camp full of fun & sharing God's love.

Explorer Camp: My name is Heidi Zaebst. This is my second year as a director at Camp Tippecanoe. I had so much fun last year and can’t wait for another year of fun! I grew up in the North Webster area and still live in the area with my husband Andy. We attend North Webster Church of God where I help with the high school youth group. I am a Kindergarten teacher for the local school district. I have been teaching for 12 years! Although I never attended Camp Tippy as a child, I spent a lot of time there growing up. I am looking forward to all the fun we'll have at camp this year.

Come to camp this summer ready to make new friends, get messy, play games, worship, and most importantly learn more about God! I am excited to see what He has in store for camp this year!
